Big News for SJHS English students! Today, January 28, the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers announced the winners for the 2021 Regional Scholastic Writing Awards. St. Joe students of every grade level won awards for various writing styles including poetry, critical essays, flash fiction, memoirs, and journalism. SJHS claimed fifteen honorable mentions, four silver keys, and two gold keys totaling 21 awards.

“It’s great to be closing out senior year on a high note,” Kiersten Olson, 12, said.

She won two awards this year: a gold key in poetry and an honorable mention in journalism.

Kiersten and our other gold/silver key winners will move on to the national competition. The results of this contest will come out by early spring. Congratulations to all our winners!
