Two SJHS Students Nominated for NCTE Award

Recently, Katie Hokanson and Beatrice Craig were nominated by Mr. Bloomgren for the National Achievement Award in Writing by the National Council of Teachers in English. In order to qualify, you must be a junior with exemplary writing skills.

“I walked into English class and there was a paper on my desk,” Bea said as she recalled her excitement.

Katie felt the same. “I was pretty surprised—usually the nominees are college writing students and I’m in Honors 11,” Katie said.

Their final pieces are due March 26 by 11:59 PM.
