What are your plans after high school?
I'll be attending Colgate University w/ a major in applied mathematics and a minor in psychological sciences--potentially pursuing a graduate degree or doctorate after. Right now my best guess for a career would be working in research in some social science field--whether it be psychology, political science, etc. So that would probably mean working for a research organization or a university. Truthfully, I'd be happy in any career where I feel proud of what I'm working on and providing the world with.
What did you enjoy most about high school?
I think the thing high school specifically provided me with was the opportunity to learn more about myself by the process of meeting new people and trying new things. I always tried to say yes to an invitation and all those experiences gave me somewhat of an idea of the things I'd like to continue in college. I don't think I'll ever regret the people I surrounded myself with at St. Joe.
If you could have anything in the world, what would it be, and why? I'd want a ghost that lived inside my phone and could play me the exact song I needed but didn't know I wanted at that moment. Also a new Frank Ocean album.
Who has influenced you the most, and why?
Definitely my sisters. They practically raised me and have obviously shaped the way I try to act and treat people. They've been the perfect role models when I've questioned myself, and they've shown me that your life isn't defined by an arbitrary measure of success or scrutiny, but by the extent that you do the best with what you have and what you truly want to do.
