Are High Schoolers Still into Halloween Movies?

Are Halloween movies still a thing for high schoolers? Do Juniors really scream and shout at the jump scare of Michael Myers? Will Freshman sing along to the catchy songs in Nightmare Before Christmas? How many Halloween movies are Sophomores begging to see each year?

There are lots of reasons new Halloween movies come out each year. One is there are so many different kinds of Halloween movies. From Charlie Brown to Freddy Crougar there is a lot of diversity and room for everyone to enjoy.

“Friday the 13th gets you in the mood for Halloween,” Bobby Nate, 12, explained.

October 2022 will surely be a good month for movies in the Halloween mood. This fall we will get to see the legendary Sanderson Sisters respawn in Disney’s “Hocus Pocus 2”. Also, the great story of Micheal Myers, that has been providing spooks and scares since 1978, will come to a close with “Halloween Ends.” This year definitely will bring something new to the table.

“Halloween movies are great for my high schoolers. They can be used to help me teach marketing and advertising skills,” said Mrs. Mellott, Marketing and Business teacher.

This shows that even if you aren’t into scary movies or could care less about Halloween, you might still benefit from  a spooky spirited movie. All these reasons show that movies are a vital part of a high schoolers Halloween season.

“Halloween movies are important to me because they get you into a spooky spirit,” Megan Painter, 10, said.

With the mix of the classics like “Scream” or “The Addams Family” and a sprinkle of modern with “Halloween Ends” and “Hocus Pocus 2” Halloween movies can put the spooky spirit into a high schooler.
