Fall Sports Update

Girls Cross Country

October 29, the girls cross country team took third place in the MHSAA Regional meet with the varsity girls qualifying for state as a Division 1 team. The varsity girls traveled to the Michigan International Speedway to place 17th place out of 28 teams competent at State. November 6. 

Boys Cross Country

The boys cross country team completed their season at the MHSAA Regional meet October 29 with 20 athletes running a personal record and/or season bests. Notable runners were Shay White, 10, who placed 25th, and Luke Lehner, 11, who placed 47th.

Boys Tennis

October 9 the boys varsity tennis team took second place in the MHSAA Regional, qualifying for state finals. The varsity boys traveled to Midland, Michigan October 15 and 16 to compete at state. The Bears finished their season taking eleventh place at the state finals.  

Girls Golf

The girls golf team win their tenth consecutive West Division championship at the Point O’ Woods Golf and Country Club October 7. Completing their season, the senior girls were honored that evening for the last four years of success in the St. Joseph’s Golf Program. 

Volleyball

St. Joseph hosted the two-night D1 district championship on November 3 and 4. During night one of the championship, the girls team beat Mattawan 25-21,  25-23, 25-19. On night two on November 4, the girls varsity volleyball team lost to Portage Northern 24-26, 25-21, 28-26, 25-20. 

Boys Soccer

After winning 1-0 against Mattawan at the district championship on October 21, the boys soccer team traveled to Otsego for regionals October 28. The St. Joe varsity soccer boys lost to Gull Lake 2-0 at the regional soccer championship, finishing their season.

Girls Swim

On their senior night, the girls swim and dive team lost to Portage Central 69-117 October 19. The girls traveled to Portage for SMAC Conference on November 5 and 6, where they competed against eight other high school swim and diving teams. 

Football

The Varsity Bears won 29-26 against Zeeland West during the MHSAA Football Playoffs district championship October 29. The Bears won 17-14 in the district final against Lakeshore Lancers after traveling to Stevensville November 5.
