Girls’ Basketball
The Girl’s Basketball team defeated Bangor 52-11 in their first game of the season. Unfortunately, the Lady Bears were defeated by the Lakeshore Lancers with a final score of 53-30.
Charly Shell (11): Our first game went really well. Everyone had some good points around the board and I think we have a lot of potential for this year: our team chemistry is much better than last years.
Boys’ Basketball
The Men’s Basketball team has already played their first game against Harper Creek and won 53-47. Their second game was played against Grand Haven and the Bears were defeated 45-58.
Jakob Diamond (12): Our first game went pretty well as season openers go. We played a little rough, we had to get some wrinkles out, but I think overall we did a good job. We’ve already started at such a good place so I can't wait to see how we'll improve.
Boys’ Swimming
The Boy’s Swim team has already competed at their first away meet: The Cereal Bowl Relays They swam against teams across the state and from all three divisions. They placed 7th at the meet and won the silver medal for the 200 medley relay.
Nick Pierangeli (12): There were a lot of good times at the relay and a lot of team improvement. It was an overall great team effort and I have high expectations for this season.
Boys’ Wrestling
The wrestling team competed at Rockford and won 2-0 against both Greenville and Byron Center. The final score against Greenville was 39-29 and Byron Center was 42-36.
Keegan leClear (9): So far we’re looking pretty good. Our team is pretty young so we’ll probably have a couple freshmen starting on varsity. I think this year we have a big chance to win Berrien County and beat Lakeshore, and we’ll be even better over the next few years.
Competitive Cheer
The competitive cheer team competed at their first competition at Lakeshore, and were unfortunately defeated with a final score of 490.
Ava Panicucci (11): The team is looking pretty decent this year. We have a lot of people who haven’t done it before, but they are catching up.
