Committee announces outdoor prom

On Thursday, February 11, the prom committee announced that they would be holding an outdoor prom on Friday, May 14, from 7 pm-11 pm. Following COVID restrictions, masks will be worn as well as distancing out on the football field during the dance. Dr. Jamie Culver, Prom Advisor, gave some information about the event. “We wanted to create an opportunity for you guys to have a prom-ish memory,” she explained. When the pandemic started last year, almost all events including the prom were canceled. 

The decision about hosting a prom this year had been up in the air. “We’re going to try to create the best environment we can. We know some kids will not attend because they feel like it’s too different for them but we’re offering it for the people who want the chance.” Dr. Culver added. As to this year's theme that is still up for debate, ideas are circulating. “We’re still thinking about it but I think we’re gonna go with Footloose on the football field and have a great time.” She concluded with. 

More information will be provided to the students as the prom date comes close.
