March 8 is International Women’s Day, which is a day that celebrates the achievements and highlights the issues focused around women. International women’s day was first recognized in several European countries in 1911. The theme for this year’s women’s day is  #ChallengeToChallenge, where the idea is to challenge oneself to call out gender bias and to celebrate women’s achievements. You can also wear purple white and green, the colors of women’s day.

“This day shows the strength and perseverance women hold despite the inequality we face,” said Taylor Hartley, 12.
