Coming February 4, SJHS will offer two 75-minute tests to any interested SJHS student. These tests are “multiple-choice examinations in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills,” according to the American Mathematics Competition flyer.

The AMC-12 test is designed for high school juniors and seniors, while the AMC-10 test is for freshmen and sophomores. If you are interested in participating in this test, the cost will be $5-$10 depending on how many students participate. If participants score high enough, they may be invited to the AIME competition in March.

Act fast–the deadline to sign up for the test is December 15. For more information, contact tmiesse@sjschools.org.
