In coordination with the CDC––who announced fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask––Gov. Gretchen Whitmer says fully vaccinated people can now ditch the mask. Vaccinated people do not have to wear masks at indoor or outdoor events. The governor originally planned to lift the mask mandate after at least 70 percent of people were vaccinated. As of now, about 50 percent of Michiganders have been vaccinated. While the mandate is over for vaccinated people, some stores––like Meijer––are still requiring customers to wear masks.
