Currently, Pfizer, an American pharmaceutical company largely known for its COVID-19 vaccine, hosts its largest manufacturing facility on the border of the Michigan cities Kalamazoo and Portage. There, the company will begin construction on a new building for its facility, set to break ground next week. The new facility will cost a little over $450 million and have 400,000 square feet once completed, according to its plans.

“It’s so cool,” Willa Brainard, 12, said regarding the new facility’s construction announcement.
