Seniors Complete Final Projects Before Graduation

This week, senior English classes finish up their final projects—students are either presenting their four-month-long senior service project to their 21st-Century Lit classmates or performing a TedTalk in front of their College Writing peers over their quarter-long research project.

These presentations mark most of these seniors’ last academic obligations of their high school careers. While the end of the school year sits just two days away, the pressure was on for these students to maintain their grades.

Sylvia Park, 12, researched the regulations behind supplements. While her research was comprehensive, including information such as FDA involvement in supplement manufacturing, her TedTalk focused primarily on how consumers can be conscious shoppers of supplements. She kept in mind what her classmates would want to draw from her research.

Students from 21st-Century Lit were given more leniency with their projects due to COVID-19 troubles. These projects are assigned with the intention to have students teach other students about topics of their passion.
