Alike to February, March is a presidentially dedicated month: Women’s History Month. Both started as just a celebrated week but, through rallying and increased social support, grew into entire month-long celebrations. Women’s History Month 2021 was given the theme of "Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silenced,” a nod to both the 19th amendment and all the years female citizens weren’t able to vote in the US, according to womenshistory.org. The theme carried on from 2020 since many of the National Women’s History Alliance events were postponed due to Covid-19 concerns. However, there’s a multitude of local, small-scale options to celebrate the women in your community. Thank a female worker, donate to your local women’s shelter, or even go the distance to give your mom a special day.
