The Senior PGA Championship was a hit among St. Joseph students and families with many students choosing to volunteer this past Memorial Day weekend. The tournament lasted from May 26-29.

“On the last day I was with Alker and he ended up winning. Progressively as the round went on more and more people gathered and it was just a really cool experience. Obviously something that’s only going to happen once in a lifetime,” Maddy Cleveland, 12 said. Steven Alker ended up winning by three strokes shooting 16 under-par.

“It was fun just to be there for the four days around other people that want to help out the community just as much as I do,” Nathan Brooks, 11 said.

Last weekend marked the first time the championship was held at Harbor Shores since 2018. The 2020 championship was canceled due to Covid-19.

“It was fun just to be there for the four days around other people that want to help out the community just as much as I do,” Nathan said.
