Thursday, June 2, SJHS released the list for the top 10 academic achievers of the 2022 senior class, who will be commemorated in the Academic Hall of Fame; for the first time ever, a junior’s name will be listed in the top ten, with early graduate Gavin Hardy, 11 joining the 10 four-year graduates.

Though Gavin will be attending the University of Michigan to study biochemistry and biomolecular science, he has proved himself to be a well-rounded student, doubling up on English classes his junior year, in addition to his AP science and math classes.

“He’s very science-minded,” Mrs. Kelsey Froelich, AP and Honors Biology teacher, said, having had Gavin in class both his freshman and junior year. “[And] a very critical thinker.”

Gavin will be honored at commencement along with fellow Academic Hall of Fame inductees Jaclyn Cool, Trevor Cool, Hayden Flynn, Amelia Hines, Joe Paine, Estelle Spira, Nick Strickler, Jared Svetlev, Prosper Waldmann, and Nolan Wertanen..

“Make sure you’re taking classes that you care about,” Gavin advised aspiring top 10 students.
