Pride Fest: Back and Better than Ever

For the second year in a row, the Outcenter located in the Arts District of Benton Harbor will be hosting its Pride Fest on June 24. Just like last year, the event will have a variety of pride-themed activities, food trucks, and live music. Pride Fest will be held from 12 pm to 6 pm at Dwight P. Mitchell Park, twice as long as last year’s event.

“We have a live DJ doing music during the event, we have local food trucks from Dianes Kitchen, La Chula, Lost Coast shaved ice, Blissful Sweets, Water and Wheat, and Chef Life Cheese cakes from The Market,” Outcenter Program Director, Gerrik Nasstrom, said.

“I went to Pride Fest last year, and I’m excited to see the community gathering together, and all the activities they have there,” Ginny Weykamp, 11, said.

Throughout the month of June, the Outcenter will have activities to celebrate Pride Month

“People who attended last year talked about how warm and welcoming the event was and that's what we're really trying to replicate this year,” Nasstrom, said.
