A new year and a new group of alumni: Class of 2022 celebrate graduation

Throwing their graduation caps into the air, new sj alumni celebrated their newest milestone.

On Sunday, June 6, hundreds of family members, friends of graduates, and alumni gathered to celebrate the graduation of St. Joseph High School Class of 2022. 

Before the graduation commenced, principal Greg Blomgren honored the family of Jaden Rollins who passed away in 2021 by sharing a moment of silence with the crowd, and a picture of Jaden seated near the other graduates. 

“That class of 2022 was unique in that it was a large class and there were a lot of accolades that the class attained. Athletic had one of the best years we've ever had with these seniors, there are some kids going off to prestigious schools so those are always good things to see.” principle Greg Blomgren summarized.

Class of 2022 President Breckyn Bussey, 12, and social studies teacher Mr. Lyle Hayden, Malik Immoos, 12, and Peyton Cloud, 12, all gave speeches addressing the Class of 2022. 

“The class didn’t have any resemblance to a normal high school experience, we won’t be able to tell the effects of this till the future. In summary, hard work was the message of the speech I gave.” Mr Lyle hayden commented. 

 Distinguished alumni, such as Mr. Arnold Fege, Mrs. Amy Porritt-Pierce, and Dr. Maria Madison, were recognized for their achievements during the ceremony aswell.
