At noon on May 14, 2021, the annual Peace Officers Memorial Day Service will occur. This event, hosted and sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police Blossomland Lodge 100, will take place at the Berrien County Law Enforcement Officer’s Monument at the Bluff. The service serves to honor fallen law enforcement officers in Berrien County and, as the daughter of a retired police officer, SJHS senior Reagan Kreiner has her own thoughts on this memorial.

“I definitely have a more unique perspective on things,” she said. “My dad has worked nights since I was in preschool, which is a more inherently dangerous shift, so I’ve always had a concern for his safety.”

Kreiner is planning to enter the law enforcement field after college as well. As for the memorial, the public is invited to attend and, in attending, must follow outdoor social distancing and masking protocols.
