On October 21 from 1:30-5pm, the Allied Health CTE classes hosted a flu shot clinic at the high school. The Advanced Health Care Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy classes partnered with Lakeland Spectrum Health to work at the event and administer the flu shots.

“This event is hosted to minimize the effects of seasonal influenza,” Mrs. Michele Knuth, CTE Allied Health Sciences Educator and an organizer of the event, said. “Flu shots and high quality, frequent hand washing is the best way to prevent and stop the spread of the flu.”

The boys varsity tennis team played in the division 3 tennis state tournament at West Ottawa High School on October 15. 14 seed St Joseph played 3 seed Detroit Country Day in the Round of 16. Unfortunately, they lost the match 1-7 with Tyler Romano being the only bear to win his set. “I have to fill in big spots next year,” Anirudh Ale, 9, said when asked what it feels like to be a freshman on such a talented team.
